2015 Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade

It may have rained on our parade, but the showers of support for our Veterans and loved ones moved indoors; and into our hearts!

A large contingent of family, friends, colleagues and volunteers rallied and assisted in making the Honor Flag Unit a rousing success. After the parade was cancelled due to weather, the ceremony was moved to Christian Liberty High School. The School transformed its gym into very hallowed ground with very short notice. All of our participating units including; Hersey High School Service Over Self,  Salute, Inc.,  Cub Scout Pack 132, Ivy Hill Pack 468 Cub Scouts, Cub Scout Pack 130, Cub Scout Pack 119, Boy Scout Troop 132, RMHS Rotary Interact Club, Kare- 9 Military Dogs, Clearbrook arrived with patriotic spirit along with even more extra helpers who came out  to help us honor and pay tribute  to those in our Honor Flag Unit.  All 200 requested banners and flags were present for the ceremony at Christian Liberty Academy.  It was a sea of Red, White and Blue with the awe inspiring sound of the Army band filling the air with the pride and dignity fought for by Veterans of all wars and conflicts, as well as the brave men and women who assure our continued freedom by wearing the uniform today.

It didn’t rain on our parade after all!
