The Most Important Thing We Do Is Listen.

At Glueckert Funeral Home, our professional Funeral Directors and Staff are there to listen. Glueckert Funeral Home Manager Matt Bennett states “the objective is to serve families to the highest capacity”. And the way to do that; is to listen. We have the opportunity to customize your service in your desire to honor your loved one in the most memorable way. When families make funeral arrangements, a lot of valuable and important information is shared. It is in those precious moments that we have a unique and wonderful opportunity to know and understand the loved one being celebrated and honored. So, we do a lot of listening. For Matt, “the big reward is being able to listen and take that information and sharing and turn their services into exactly what that family wants them to be”.

The entire staff at Glueckert Funeral Home is dedicated to specializing the services you are planning to be unique and personal to the life you are celebrating. When a family entrusts us with this very important responsibility, we’re honored. It is our mission to go above and beyond in any manner we can to accommodate our families. So tell us everything. We’re listening.

Pre-Planning gives clear direction

Kathy Borresen has experienced Pre-Planning funeral services personally with both of her parents. Her parents pre-arranged their services and her position as Chairwoman of the Environment & Arts Ministry at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights has occasionally offered her the opportunity share her experience with others.

The sigh of relief is unmistakable when Kathy describes, “this just takes difficult decisions and uncertainty out of the hands of the family and gives them clear direction on what to do”. Families can choose to pre-fund their expenses, which alleviates any financial burden to the family. In doing so, Kathy feels the family can then celebrate the life of their loved one and exclusively focus on the family and friends who celebrate with them.

Whether pre-arranged with or without the funding portion, Glueckert Funeral Home will keep on file the record of what the person making the arrangements desire and any choices they’ve made.

Selecting Merchandise is difficult. Our mission is to make it as comfortable as possible.

During the arrangements for funeral planning or even Pre-Planning, the experience of selecting merchandise can be a very difficult one for families. Glueckert Funeral Home make it as comfortable as we possibly can. We have a very welcoming selection room where families can view full size displays of what they are choosing. We are there to serve our families by answering their questions and providing the information they need to make whatever selections they desire. Whether choosing caskets, vault enclosures, urns or any other merchandise, those decisions reside solely with the family. We even have a section devoted to Eco-Friendly options for families to view.

This portion of the arrangements is often a very difficult one. When the family of a loved one is ready, that’s when we proceed. But not until that time. Our family and our dedicated staff are committed to providing compassionate and professional service throughout the entire arrangement process, whether it is working with a family who have experienced a very painful recent loss, or pre-planning with an individual or a family. There are many choices that families need to make. It is our mission to make that process as comfortable as possible.

Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, Cremation Options.

CREMATION OFFERS AS MANY OPTIONS AS TRADITIONAL SERVICES

Many people believe that choosing Cremation they are limited in terms of services that are available. In fact, choosing Cremation as the final disposition doesn’t limit any other services a family might prefer when saying a final good bye to a loved one. A full wake service is available, a memorial service and as Sam Resch, one of our Funeral Directors reminds us, we have a specially designed “Bennett”, an urn carrying device that accommodates 4 pall bearers, to give a more traditional feel to a service that concludes with Cremation.

Sam proudly states “The Glueckert Family takes care of their client families like their own family. No matter what choices are made, we’ll carry out your wishes to our fullest and best capabilities”.

Glueckert Holiday Remembrance Service 2015 (Full version)

Over 400 family and friends of of our loved ones joined us for our 2015 Holiday Remembrance Service. We are so honored to serve the families of our community and beyond. The inspirational words of Pastor Micah Greiner can be a heart-warming reminder all year long. Please “save the date” of Saturday December 3, 2016 for our next Holiday Remembrance Service.

Glueckert Holiday Remembrance Recap 2015

Holiday Remembrance participants share their stories.

Often it takes some courage to return to the place where your loved one spent their final time with you. Annually, we have celebrated a Holiday Remembrance Service for our entire community to come together and share their experience and celebrate the lives of their loved ones together. We videotape the service to make it available to family, friends and loved ones who cannot be there for the experience in person. The combined strength of the community coming together and comforting and help the healing process continue is a truly awe inspiring experience. We’re honored to be able to honor all of our loved ones year after year and to provide a chance for the families who’ve entrusted us with the most treasured people in their lives to celebrate their continuing presence in their lives.

Holiday Remembrance Service Kare 9 Dogs

We had some extra special greeters at our Remembrance Service this year!

In addition to the Glueckert Family Members and our Professional Staff, the receiving line for our Holiday Remembrance Service included a quartet of members from the Kare 9 Military Ministry; namely Brutus, Blitz, Brandy and Susie.

Our theme this year of Comfort, Hope & Gift were carried out by our guest hosts in their special way, which may have included a “friendly lick hello” in return for the favor of a loving pet from attendees.

Lutheran Church Ministries of Northbrook operates the Kare 9 Military Ministry for Veterans and the handlers are also Veterans. Their mission is to strive to serve active-duty military, Veterans and their families at various Veteran events and venues in the region.

The Kare 9 Dogs have been with us here at Glueckert Funeral Home for our sponsored events all year, including our entry in the Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade, our annual coach trip to Abraham Lincoln Cemetery we sponsor for Veterans and their families as well as our Holiday Remembrance Service.

“At our Holiday Remembrance Service, it can be very difficult for families who’ve lost loved ones recently. Upon entering and experiencing these beautiful dogs full of affection, it just seems to offer immediate comfort to our guests. We were so happy to have them as part of the service” said Jackie Glueckert, coordinator of the event.

While Susie is a bit of a Diva, all 4 of our guests agreed to a group photo!
