We thank all of those who attended our Annual Holiday Luminary Remembrance Service. As has become our custom, we videotaped the service for families to have a chance to see it again, and for family members near and far who could not be in attendance with us. The Glueckert Family remains grateful to all of the families who entrust us with the care of your loved ones over generations of your family and ours. We also remain committed to sharing the joy of their memories with you every year at this wonderful gathering of people who help each other celebrate the lives of the people they cherished and continue to cherish.

We have 2 videos for you. One is a couple of minutes in length, highlighting the environs and the response to the service. The other is 55 minutes and contains the full service featuring all of the readings, songs, reflections and memorials. We hope these bring some comfort to you this season and throughout the entire year. We thank all of you for coming or viewing this service on our website or social media sites. We also thank our amazing staff of professionals here for their incredible participation in this service and in the service of all of the families we are privileged to take care of. Those professionals are every bit our family too.

Please share these with any families you know who may not have been able to join us.

Funeral Pre-Planning Can Make It Easier

“My mom pre-arranged everything. It made it so much easier for us. I told my husband we should do this for our kids too”.

When Tamara Kapcheck’s mom passed away, it was hard. Very hard on the kids. Dealing with the grief was difficult. In this case, arriving at Glueckert Funeral home, they realized that Tamara’s mom had pre-planned everything. Even the flower selection. Tamara and her husband knew for sure that everything her mom wanted was seen to and taken care of, and most important; perfect, just as she wanted it. “It just made things so much easier for us. I told my husband that this is something we should do for our kids. Because it’s hard on the kids”, she shares.

“Everything that was done was wonderful” according to Tamara. Her mom continued to be generous even after her life here. There are many options for Pre-planning that families can choose from simple selections and preferences to be kept on file, up to pre-funding arrangements. Many financial planners are adding this service to the portfolios of their clients. At Glueckert Funeral Home, our professionals are always available to discuss pre-planning at no cost and with no obligation; just to answer any and all of the questions you may have.

Contact us with any questions you may have regarding pre-planning or at-need services. We are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. 847-253-0168 or glueckertfuneralhome.com.

Pre-Planning gives clear direction

Kathy Borresen has experienced Pre-Planning funeral services personally with both of her parents. Her parents pre-arranged their services and her position as Chairwoman of the Environment & Arts Ministry at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights has occasionally offered her the opportunity share her experience with others.

The sigh of relief is unmistakable when Kathy describes, “this just takes difficult decisions and uncertainty out of the hands of the family and gives them clear direction on what to do”. Families can choose to pre-fund their expenses, which alleviates any financial burden to the family. In doing so, Kathy feels the family can then celebrate the life of their loved one and exclusively focus on the family and friends who celebrate with them.

Whether pre-arranged with or without the funding portion, Glueckert Funeral Home will keep on file the record of what the person making the arrangements desire and any choices they’ve made.

Selecting Merchandise is difficult. Our mission is to make it as comfortable as possible.

During the arrangements for funeral planning or even Pre-Planning, the experience of selecting merchandise can be a very difficult one for families. Glueckert Funeral Home make it as comfortable as we possibly can. We have a very welcoming selection room where families can view full size displays of what they are choosing. We are there to serve our families by answering their questions and providing the information they need to make whatever selections they desire. Whether choosing caskets, vault enclosures, urns or any other merchandise, those decisions reside solely with the family. We even have a section devoted to Eco-Friendly options for families to view.

This portion of the arrangements is often a very difficult one. When the family of a loved one is ready, that’s when we proceed. But not until that time. Our family and our dedicated staff are committed to providing compassionate and professional service throughout the entire arrangement process, whether it is working with a family who have experienced a very painful recent loss, or pre-planning with an individual or a family. There are many choices that families need to make. It is our mission to make that process as comfortable as possible.

Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, Cremation Options.

CREMATION OFFERS AS MANY OPTIONS AS TRADITIONAL SERVICES

Many people believe that choosing Cremation they are limited in terms of services that are available. In fact, choosing Cremation as the final disposition doesn’t limit any other services a family might prefer when saying a final good bye to a loved one. A full wake service is available, a memorial service and as Sam Resch, one of our Funeral Directors reminds us, we have a specially designed “Bennett”, an urn carrying device that accommodates 4 pall bearers, to give a more traditional feel to a service that concludes with Cremation.

Sam proudly states “The Glueckert Family takes care of their client families like their own family. No matter what choices are made, we’ll carry out your wishes to our fullest and best capabilities”.
