We have the video of our Holiday Luminary Remembrance Service.
We actually have two. One is a two minute recap with some highlights. The other is the full service for all of the families to view. We’re so grateful for the beautiful singing of Tam Conseur and the inspirational words of Reverend James Preston. It was an uplifting night for all of us at Glueckert Funeral Home to celebrate so many loved ones in this most holy season.
The Glueckert Family has a strong commitment to Veterans in their community. In addition to sponsoring an entry in the Memorial Day parade with honor banners representing the loved ones and active members of our military, each September, Glueckert Funeral Home also sponsors a bus coach trip and tour or Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. The tradition of service in Arlington Heights and the surrounding communities is something is the Glueckert Family is dedicated to preserving. That includes ensuring that each and every Veteran is aware of, and receives the earned benefits of their service.
Kathy Borresen’s father was a Veteran. Kathy explains how the Glueckert Family assisted her in locating her fathers’ DD-214, and arranged the Military honors for his funeral services at Glueckert. When she couldn’t locate her father’s Discharge Document (DD-214) among his papers, she stated “Sam went to town finding them, by calling Washington DC and the Veteran’s Administration to locate the documents so my father could have all of the military benefits as part of his service. They always seem to extend beyond what you might expect”. Veterans are a special group among us. Honoring their service all the way to their final resting place is a privilege and a duty. We’re honored by the families who choose us to take care of their loved ones who served us. Veterans are entitled to burial services at no cost at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. (or any National Cemetery where space is available) The benefit also extends to a Veteran’s spouse. If you are interested in learning more about veteran earned benefits or would like to be included in Veterans programs offered by Glueckert Funeral Home, please contact Jackie Glueckert at 847-253-0168. Or for any information on Pre-Need, At-Need Services or questions you may have, contact us at 847-253-0168 or visit http://www.glueckertfuneralhome.com
From the time the Glueckert children were very young, John and Rosanna Glueckert ensured the entire family was involved in the community. They stressed that sense of community in John, Marcie and Jackie from the beginning. So, it’s not surprising that the entire family and staff at Glueckert Funeral Home are very involved in all kinds of activities, programs, groups and activities around town. Arlington Height’s motto is ‘City of Good Neighbors’, and the businesses and the people there live up to that promise! Glueckert Funeral Home sponsors events all year round, including the Memorial Day Flag Unit in the parade, Relay for Life, Bus Tour of Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for Veterans, a Holiday Remembrance Service and many other charitable events and drives throughout the community. The family and staff are members in the service organizations in town; Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, local PTAs and other organizations. They treasure all the relationships and friendships that have grown from being involved.
“Our goal is to serve the family in the manner they wish. In fact, that’s our mission”, states John W. Glueckert, Jr. speaking on behalf of his entire family and professional staff.
The most important reason people choose would Glueckert Funeral Home is because they feel comfortable here. ‘Funeral Home’ is two words, and the “Home” portion is the most important. The mission is to ensure that while a family is here that they treat it as if they were home and they feel at home. Making people feel comfortable is our mission here.
When people require our service, it’s during the most stressful days of their lives. We do everything we can to make things a little easier for the families we serve. We’ll take care of the details so you can focus on greeting family and friends and celebrating the life of your loved one. We want our home to be your home.
At Glueckert Funeral Home, our professional Funeral Directors and Staff are there to listen. Glueckert Funeral Home Manager Matt Bennett states “the objective is to serve families to the highest capacity”. And the way to do that; is to listen. We have the opportunity to customize your service in your desire to honor your loved one in the most memorable way. When families make funeral arrangements, a lot of valuable and important information is shared. It is in those precious moments that we have a unique and wonderful opportunity to know and understand the loved one being celebrated and honored. So, we do a lot of listening. For Matt, “the big reward is being able to listen and take that information and sharing and turn their services into exactly what that family wants them to be”.
The entire staff at Glueckert Funeral Home is dedicated to specializing the services you are planning to be unique and personal to the life you are celebrating. When a family entrusts us with this very important responsibility, we’re honored. It is our mission to go above and beyond in any manner we can to accommodate our families. So tell us everything. We’re listening.
Kathy Borresen has experienced Pre-Planning funeral services personally with both of her parents. Her parents pre-arranged their services and her position as Chairwoman of the Environment & Arts Ministry at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights has occasionally offered her the opportunity share her experience with others.
The sigh of relief is unmistakable when Kathy describes, “this just takes difficult decisions and uncertainty out of the hands of the family and gives them clear direction on what to do”. Families can choose to pre-fund their expenses, which alleviates any financial burden to the family. In doing so, Kathy feels the family can then celebrate the life of their loved one and exclusively focus on the family and friends who celebrate with them.
Whether pre-arranged with or without the funding portion, Glueckert Funeral Home will keep on file the record of what the person making the arrangements desire and any choices they’ve made.
During the arrangements for funeral planning or even Pre-Planning, the experience of selecting merchandise can be a very difficult one for families. GlueckertFuneral Home make it as comfortable as we possibly can. We have a very welcoming selection room where families can view full size displays of what they are choosing. We are there to serve our families by answering their questions and providing the information they need to make whatever selections they desire. Whether choosing caskets, vault enclosures, urns or any other merchandise, those decisions reside solely with the family. We even have a section devoted to Eco-Friendly options for families to view.
This portion of the arrangements is often a very difficult one. When the family of a loved one is ready, that’s when we proceed. But not until that time. Our family and our dedicated staff are committed to providing compassionate and professional service throughout the entire arrangement process, whether it is working with a family who have experienced a very painful recent loss, or pre-planning with an individual or a family. There are many choices that families need to make. It is our mission to make that process as comfortable as possible.
