Kathy Borresen has experienced Pre-Planning funeral services personally with both of her parents. Her parents pre-arranged their services and her position as Chairwoman of the Environment & Arts Ministry at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights has occasionally offered her the opportunity share her experience with others.
The sigh of relief is unmistakable when Kathy describes, “this just takes difficult decisions and uncertainty out of the hands of the family and gives them clear direction on what to do”. Families can choose to pre-fund their expenses, which alleviates any financial burden to the family. In doing so, Kathy feels the family can then celebrate the life of their loved one and exclusively focus on the family and friends who celebrate with them.
Whether pre-arranged with or without the funding portion, Glueckert Funeral Home will keep on file the record of what the person making the arrangements desire and any choices they’ve made.
During the arrangements for funeral planning or even Pre-Planning, the experience of selecting merchandise can be a very difficult one for families. GlueckertFuneral Home make it as comfortable as we possibly can. We have a very welcoming selection room where families can view full size displays of what they are choosing. We are there to serve our families by answering their questions and providing the information they need to make whatever selections they desire. Whether choosing caskets, vault enclosures, urns or any other merchandise, those decisions reside solely with the family. We even have a section devoted to Eco-Friendly options for families to view.
This portion of the arrangements is often a very difficult one. When the family of a loved one is ready, that’s when we proceed. But not until that time. Our family and our dedicated staff are committed to providing compassionate and professional service throughout the entire arrangement process, whether it is working with a family who have experienced a very painful recent loss, or pre-planning with an individual or a family. There are many choices that families need to make. It is our mission to make that process as comfortable as possible.
Over 400 family and friends of of our loved ones joined us for our 2015 Holiday Remembrance Service. We are so honored to serve the families of our community and beyond. The inspirational words of Pastor Micah Greiner can be a heart-warming reminder all year long. Please “save the date” of Saturday December 3, 2016 for our next Holiday Remembrance Service.
Holiday Remembrance participants share their stories.
Often it takes some courage to return to the place where your loved one spent their final time with you. Annually, we have celebrated a Holiday Remembrance Service for our entire community to come together and share their experience and celebrate the lives of their loved ones together. We videotape the service to make it available to family, friends and loved ones who cannot be there for the experience in person. The combined strength of the community coming together and comforting and help the healing process continue is a truly awe inspiring experience. We’re honored to be able to honor all of our loved ones year after year and to provide a chance for the families who’ve entrusted us with the most treasured people in their lives to celebrate their continuing presence in their lives.
